Re: Looking for way to have list with check boxes

Of course it can also be done with AutoShapes. A bit more manual adjustment will be necessary. Proceed als follows: 1. Type all the entries (each one in a new paragraph). 2. Change to Object mode (View > Object mode). 3. Go to Object > New drawing > Rounded rectangle. 4. Draw a rectangle with the ap...

Re: Looking for way to have list with check boxes

I recommend using form objects to achieve this. Go to Object > New form object > Checkbox..., insert a checkbox and choose yellow as background colour via Format > Character. Then you can copy and paste it as often as you want. As the checkbox is treated by the program like a letter, there are no pr...

Re: How do I set the default zoom to 100%?

In TextMaker, existing documents are opened with the zoom level they were saved with. If you want all your new documents to have a 100% zoom level, open the template Normal.tmvx, set the zoom level to 100% and save the template again.

Re: Centralise an object/picture in a text document

Edit mode is the usual working mode you are in when you create a new document and write text. Object mode is a special mode to handle objects like images, text boxes, auto shapes and so on. To activate Object mode, go to View > Object mode. You will find more about it in the TextMaker help or in the...

Re: Centralise an object/picture in a text document

I presume that you were in Edit mode when you pasted the image. In this case, the image is inserted as an embedded object, which means that it is treated as part of the text (a kind of oversized letter, so to speak). If you choose Object mode before pasting, the image will be inserted as a picture f...

Re: How to enter em spaces and en spaces?

For some unknown reason, the "Insert character" command is missing from the classic menu. I use the "Insert character" icon in the standard toolbar for this (a square with three horizontal dots - I can‘t remember if it has been there all the time or if I put it there via Tools > ...

Re: Vertical text - Classic menu

Object > New text frame.
Type the text inside the frame.
Right-click the border of the frame and choose "Properties..." in the context menu.
Select tab "Inner text".
In "Rotate by..." select 90°.

Hope that helps.

Re: Section Break

NB: To avoid unwanted page breaks, make sure that "Page break" in the Section > Columns dialog is unchecked and "Height" is set to "Auto" or "Fixed height". If "Page height" is selected, there will always be a page break because each section consists...

Re: selecting text

When the Text tool is selected, I can drag the cursor over a portion of text to select it and then press Ctrl+C just like in any other application. If this doesn’t work for you, you might try to select "Placeholders" first (in ribbon "View", section "View").

Re: delete/remove frame

If it is a text frame, the text is part of the frame. You should copy the text first and paste it again after deleting the frame.

Re: Two Problems with the otherwise Excellent TextMaker

TextMaker has two separate ways to handle images: You can insert an image either as an embedded object or as an image frame. As an embedded object, it is treated just like a letter in the text (so, no text wrapping), as an image frame you have all options to handle it (including several ways of text...

Re: How to export .pdf to .jpg 1:1

I forgot one point: in the "General" tab, the option "Convert each page into an image“ must be checked. Otherwise, the image files contained in the PDF will be stored separately.

Re: How to export .pdf to .jpg 1:1

That’s what I wrote. And if the PDF has an image layer and an invisible text layer, both cannot be exported to a single JPEG file because JPEG (as an image format) cannot store text.
