why register before download always?

Ok, i use this software for few years and i'm quite satisfied, but i was always wondering, why do i need to register every time i want to download it since i'm already registered ? These are two separate procedures and downloading it should be a fast case, so registration should be required for someone who is not. It's never too late to change this !!
