Check for updates locked

Presumably latest version and on Mac Catalina 10.15.5
When Check for updates is invoked, a box... attempting to connect to Softmaker.com will not cancel nor will the red dot close, if a connection is not made. This also, of course, leaves the Options window open, all with no way out.
I know not why it will not connect; the internet is working at this time.

Thanks for reporting this problem. I was able to reproduce it but only when my internet connection is actually not working. I have forwarded the details to our development team.
