I'm having difficutly selecting text in a document - a part of a sentence - that I want to copy and quote as part of a review.
In Acrobat one has a text tool (a funny vertical bar rather like an I) which one places at the beginning of the chosen text and drags over to the end of the part one wants to grab. This highlights the selected text.
Insofar as I can determine there is no equivalent. The "text tool" (capital T) is supposed to be put over the text and clicked once and it selects it - but it seems to choose a random bit of text and not to not allow me to make the choice.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks Richard

Re: selecting text
When the Text tool is selected, I can drag the cursor over a portion of text to select it and then press Ctrl+C just like in any other application. If this doesn’t work for you, you might try to select "Placeholders" first (in ribbon "View", section "View").
Re: selecting text
I cannot really imagine, what you are doing wrong. It is easy to use and should work in any case, see screen recording.
- Don't use the T+ tool for selecting text, the T+ tool is for creating a new text box.
- Maybe the text you try to select is a graphic object and not a text box?

Re: selecting text
Well, it is amazing what a good night's sleep will do.
Today it is working as you both describe. However I swear I was sober and not hallucinating and it wasn't seeming to work yesterday.
Oh well, for me a problem resolved but not solved!
Thanks for your feedback.

Nice to hear that it is now working for you.
