Freezing issue with Macbook Air M1

Post by meanioni »

Hi using Office NX on a Mac running Sequoia 15.1

Was working fine, but when going into Textmaker, the application freezes and sometimes touches get a spinning wheel. You can't interact with the app as it appears frozen and in the launch bar it says application has stopped responding. However, if you leave it for a minute or two, eventually it does respond and behave normally, but then crashes.

Extract from Mac crash diagnostics:

Event: hang
Duration: 39.93s
Duration Sampled: 4.30s (process was unresponsive for 36 seconds before sampling)
Steps: 43 (100ms sampling interval)

Just loaded planmaker and had a similar experience, although it recovered quicker (15-20 seconds) and has not crashed yet.

Thank you for sharing your issue with us. To better understand the problem and assist you more effectively, could you please clarify the following:

1. Does the app freeze intermittently, or does it freeze every time you launch it?
2. Does the freezing occur when starting the app with a blank file, with a specific file, or with any file in general?
3. Have you updated SoftMaker Office to the latest version?

Additionally, you may want to try renaming the /SoftMaker/Settings folder and see if that resolves the issue.

Having same issue with Textmaker and Planmaker. Latest version. Opens OK, sometime slow. Then if you try to do something, like paste data into a cell or enter data manually, you get spinning wheel and app freezes. Similar issues with text in Textmaker. Makes it unusable. Running on a Macbook Air M1 chip (2020) and Sequoia 15.2

Please share the file with which you are getting this problem and a screen recording.

You can also try complete uninstallation and then reinstallation of SoftMaker Office by downloading latest from our website.

The situation is practically the same as described in this quote.
I have it on the latest current versions of Office.
Texmaker not responding from time to time and I have to close its window forcibly.
Most often, this happens after closing Textmamer window or exiting the program.

Mac mini M2
macOS Sequoia 15.2 & 15.3 & 15.3.1

2. Uninstall SoftMaker Office.
3. Restart your Mac.
4. Download and install latest SoftMaker office and then check.

Thanks for the advice!
But I've done this procedure several times - it doesn't solve the problem.
I always install latest version of SoftMaker office.

Please share the file with which you are getting this problem and a screen recording.
The problem does not depend on any file. It happens after you close the TextMaker window to exit the program. But not all the time, but from time to time. It happens about 4-5 times for every 10 times you close the window.

I found out that the program doesn't freeze on closing, as I thought before, but just waits a long time to close. I checked it many times. The time of such waiting is about 1 minute. The window closes, but the icon in Dock shows that TextMaker is still active. Сlicking on the icon no longer opens the window. So there's no point in recording the screen.
Please also share sminfo.txt file, which you can create by clicking on '?' > About > Write system information.
The created sminfo.txt file is located at the following address:
