I try to open a file from a folder on icloud, and get a error message "Fout bij het openen van" with the long path and filename. In the textbox error message the filename is truncated, i.e. it does not show the full filename. Never had a problem with long filenames until now with TextMaker. What can I do?
PS: contacting the helpdesk via help function inside TM did not yet give me an answer/reaction. Thanks!

Re: Error when opening a file
This is the answer I got from Softmaker.
#1 SoftMaker Office beperkt bestands- en mappaden tot 260 tekens op Linux en Windows. Dit is een bekende beperking en we werken eraan om dit in de toekomst op te lossen.
Apparently the error message I received does not tell the user how to cope with the sw design constraints. Unfortunately their software is not yet Error-transparent and user-centric. Also, the commitment to come with the fix is not very time specific. We have still a long way to go as Europeans to become independent from US software.

Thank you for reporting the issue.
We have forwarded the details for investigation. In the meantime, as a workaround, please try shortening the file path by moving the file to a higher-level directory, or by creating an alias for longer paths.
