Deselected Thunderbird, installer still wants to mess with it

During the installation of the SoftMaker Office 2018, I unchecked the options to install Thunderbird and add-ons, because I do not want the installer to mess with my existing Thunderbird installation.

Still, the installer asked me to close Thunderbird, at which point I aborted the installation.

I strongly suggest the installer should not touch an existing Thunderbird installation if the user deselected installing it.

I have no idea why this posting in the "SoftMaker Office 2018 for Windows (beta)" forum was disapproved as duplicate, while another posting for the same issue that was posted later was approved:
