Do i need Microsoft Office

i have Microsoft Office 2016 and also Softmaker Office 2018 on my PC.
When i delete Microsoft Office can i then still open the Exel(xlsx) and Word (docx) files and if i want to save them to Exel(xlsx) and Word (docx is that possible or do i stil need Microsoft Office fore that

Yes, the MS Office file formats are supported in SoftMaker Office 2018.
