TLDR: a section that Libreoffice calls "Section2" and displays in Navigator -> Sections only exists when creating a new file in TextMaker?
I've noticed an inconsistency when creating new files in Word (2021), "TextMaker 2024 (rev S1222.1129) 64bit" and LibreOffice's Writer (24.8.5.2).
I created a new document in each of these apps and saved them to disk as .ODT and only TextMaker creates a new section... I've unpacked the ODT with 7Zip and compared content.xmls. This is in TextMaker's output, but not in others, but I can't say which app is "right" and which is "wrong", haven't looked at ODT specs:
<text:section text:style-name="Sect2" text:name="Section2">
<text:p text:style-name="P0"/>
</text:section>
Reporting it since it confused me when I created an empty document and opened it in LibreOffice and found a gray rectangle that "I cannot type out of". It took a while to figure out what was happening...
My limited understanding also is that ODTs are "simply" ZIPs / archives. When unpacking the files with 7Zip 24.09 x64, the ODTs from LibreOffice and Word 2021 are unpacked without errors, however, for TextMaker's ODT 7Zip reports "Warning: Headers Error". I'm talking about working with a document created from the "Normal A4" tempalte and simply saved to disk.
Thanks.
Inconsistency when creating a new document (between Word, TextMaker and Writer)
Re: Inconsistency when creating a new document (between Word, TextMaker and Writer)
TextMaker uses the 1.0 ODT specification. MS Word and LibreOffice uses the newer 1.3 version where changes were introduced. TM's implementation of the ODT format isn't perfect and there have been plenty of minor issues I have reported over the years, including the need up update to the latest specification, so far, no luck.

I have forwarded this improvement suggestion.
Re: Inconsistency when creating a new document (between Word, TextMaker and Writer)
What LibreOffice calls a "section" is not what Microsoft Word and SoftMaker TextMaker call a section. A "section" in LibreOffice Writer is more like a text box in Word and in TextMaker.
